Dr. Andrea Ambrosi

In accordance with Can. 2018 of the Code of Canon Law on October 1, 1971 within the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Dr. Ambrosi began his then mandatory training in the Office of the General Promoter of Faith, figuratively known then as the “advocatus diaboli”.  Here his duties included preparing the animadversions super fama sanctitatis when the Cause was being introduced, super virtutibus during the phase of concession of the title of Venerable as well as the super miris which is the overview of the cause of beatification and canonization. The Promoter at that time, Father Rafael Perez, O.S.A., awarded him his decree of qualification on December 20, 1974.
For the first seven years he worked as a Procurator for the Lawyers Valente and Vitale then from November 22, 1978 and on as an attorney for The Congregation for the Causes of Saints.  Before this role and then on after 1992, as a Postulator he has taken into jurisdiction and completed many Causes internationally in countries such as:

Argentina
Armenia
Australia
Austria
Bangladesh
Belgium
Brazil
Canada
Chile
China
Colombia

In November 2002, Dr. Ambrosi was appointed General Postulator for the Causes of Beatification and Canonization of The Congregation of Holy Cross, a Congregation founded in France in 1837 by Blessed Father Basile Moreau and today greatly developed in English speaking countries. Dr. Ambrosi, whose native language is Italian, also knows Spanish, French and Latin.

Among the Causes of martyrdom in which the Ambrosi Firm has carried out or is currently working on, its high number is due not only to the Spanish Civil War and the Nazi persecution but also to other hostilities towards Catholics: it is enough to remember the ancient martyrs of Angers, the Armenian victims of Ottoman persecution, the Argentinean martyrs of the Zenta and the religious victims of the persecutions in China.
Among the various processes of beatification completed and nearing completion, we have defended the Causes of interesting mystical figures like Anna Catherine Emmerick, Therese Neumann and Hedwig Carbone, currently well known in science.
